UX Thursday #19

Illustration of, laptop, notebook, person reading

Hello, today is International Day of Speaking Like a Pirate! And we arrive with our UX scourge along with a portion of interesting articles from the field of design. There will be a lot about interactions, user experiences — web and mobile, but also about the business approach to creating a product or service. But that's not all.

Maybe we'll meet soon to talk about how to design an eCommerce that sells? On September 25, we invite you to Warsaw, for an author's workshop, during which we will show how to design, what and why to research and how to make the store's customers more engaged. For more information about training and registration, please visit the event page. Come! (number of places limited)

1. Design matters

Fast Company every year highlights the most innovative products (not just digital), showing how thoughtful design can positively influence their use and even change the world for the better. Find out how to make a book more accessible and how to create shoes that can be recycled multiple times.

2. Indicate direction

Why are directional cues in the interfaces we design so important and how can they help the user achieve their goal faster, more efficiently and effectively? You will find out from an article on the Tubik Studio blog, where in addition to theory, the authors also share a multitude of examples.

3. Sell the result, not the product

A few words about Mailchimp, which is really a starting point for thinking about how to talk about the product through the lens of the results it can achieve, the change it will cause and how to make it an integral and important part of the history of customers and users.

4. The choice is yours

The increase in the share of the use of mobile devices at the expense of the desktop makes the user experience of the former better and better. However, it turns out that users still prefer to perform key online activities on a larger screen. Check out what other conclusions NN Group researchers have come to as part of the Life Online project.

5. Interaction Design

Should a UX designer think about the interface or the product strategy? About functionality or business results? Or about everything at once? Intercom decided to share Fundamental Principles of Interaction Design, to which its designers adhere on a daily basis.

We remind you that if you would like to share with us interesting links from the world of UX, send your proposals to newsletter@ideacto.pl, and we will be happy to share them in the next UX Thursdays. [FM_form id=” 1″]
