WSB Merito
The challenge in the design was to place a room within the architecture of the site of many different directions and specializations and to develop a functional structure allowing the use of the implementation by various universities affiliated with WSB Merito

Purpose of the project

The main objective of the project was to align responses to the needs of candidates and students with the core values of the university.

WSB Merito tailors its offerings to individuals who appreciate a balance between education and work. As such, the platform was initially designed to showcase these values, facilitate seamless navigation throughout the site, and provide key information regarding studies at WSB.

01.

1. PREDESIGN analysis‍

At this stage, we systematize business requirements, analyze the market environment, and define the needs and expectations of end users

02.

2. Strategic concept

Based on the gathered information and data from the analytical stage during workshops with the client, we develop a strategic concept for the proposed solution

03.

3. Information Architecture and wireframing

Before proceeding to the final project design, we develop the structure of the solution and define the key relationships between the elements of the proposed solution

04.

4. Graphic Design

Based on the guidelines and semi-finished products developed in earlier stages, we create the final graphic design of the solution

05.

5. Testing and optimization

The generated projects undergo testing with users, and after implementation, we carry out optimization based on available quantitative and qualitative data sources

Scope of work

During the first stage of the redesign work, we conducted an in-depth analysis of the reports provided by the client, which contained a detailed analysis of the university's brand communication.

WSB Merito

In the next stage of the project, we focused on developing the first iterations of the UX strategy. The UX team, during a workshop with the client, worked out the solutions needed to design the new website. At one of them, we developed a completely new information architecture for all sites. Our workshop work was based on an agile approach, i.e., we consciously abandoned rigid design frameworks that would limit communication between teams. Thus, the workshop process was constantly open, and it was on this process that we built the first UX plans that brought us closer to the final version of the platform.

Communication with other teams was based on documentation with interactions written out in detail, describing what should be on each view. Thus, the UX design process was based on an out-of-the-box approach, as the built UX plans were intended to replace mockups. Based on them, parallel visual designs were created. The graphic layer was designed by IDEACTO's Senior UI Designer, Jarosław Brykowicz. Visually, the website took the form of advanced prototypes with interactions, which were then subjected to usability testing in user studies. The process of making improvements to the platform is complex and consists of the efforts of many teams working in parallel. The implementation of the various stages of the project was supervised by Maciej Muszyński, Head of Project Management at IDEACTO.

Results

The collaboration on the project for WSB lasted from October 2017 and involved a team of UX/UI specialists. The results of the interdisciplinary work of the IDEACTO team can be seen at wsb.pl, which features not only the Polish language version but also a foreign one, mainly targeting candidates and students from outside Poland (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus). One of the effects brought about by the new version of wsb.pl is a 32% increase in the average number of visited subpages per user session.
