UX Thursday #1

Illustration of, laptop, notebook, person reading

The history of UX Thursdays dates back to 2017, when the wave of links to recordings, articles, reports flooded us from everywhere, no longer fit into slack channels. We decided to somehow control the situation and create a single, dedicated place for them. In the mailings sent internally, we began to share with each other what stood out among the multitude of news from the world of UX and e-commerce and could be useful to us in our daily work.

Not so long ago, we decided to take a step further and “go out to the people” with the whole venture. Every two weeks we want to inspire you, but also to help you by proposing noteworthy content. It's the day — your first UX Thursday! In the premiere edition of our mailing, we encourage you to think about the future today and take a look at the forecast of trends for 2019. We also invite you to take part in industry events, and as a bonus we add some interesting articles, to read over coffee or on the way home. Ready?

1. State of UX in 2019

2018 is coming to an end and probably some of you are already making plans and setting out visions for the next twelve months. The UX Collective team has traditionally prepared a summary of forecasts for the coming year, taking into account the prevailing fashions, trends, while not forgetting what his predecessor brought to the UX industry. Be sure to check.

2. Illustration tool: humaaans

Illustrations at your fingertips? Exactly! Successively, more tools are appearing to facilitate the generation of increasingly attractive graphics and illustrations, for use in the design of websites, stores and more. Sounds encouraging? Get to know Humaans.

3. [video] Creating new products. Non-fiction version.

As part of Allegro UX Talks, Aleksandra Bis and Michał Mazur from EL Passion talked in an interesting way about The design process of creating new products. A lot of specifics from experienced designers.

4. Why research should not be conducted only by researchers

A research project on the horizon? Assemble the best possible design team and put together a team of the best players, not just designers and researchers. Service designer Agnieszka Mróz talks about the advantages of this solution and its benefits.

5. [webinar] Portfolio UX: how to do it?

Tonight, at 7:00 p.m. Wojtek Kutyła in his webinar will introduce you to the topic of preparing a good UX portfolio. How to approach this challenge? What methods to use to attract the attention of potential employers? We encourage you to participate live, and if it is already busy on your calendars at 7:00pm, we reassure you that the recording will be available on the network.
